It's scarcely believable to the team that so much time has passed. But as 2024 chugs along steadily, so too will Mirage Motorwerkz soon celebrate a landmark 10 years since it was founded.

As the company's Managing Director, Mr. Goh Heng Lee, tells us, anyone who runs a workshop will know the logistical difficulties and high financial stakes of the trade. Still, with its 'one-stop' promise, ability to offer everything from smaller to larger-scale services, and unchanged commitment to upholding authorised dealer standards, Mirage Motorwerkz remains steadfast today in providing the best for its ever-growing group of customers.

The 'in-house' promise: For better efficiency, extra assurance

It doesn't matter how 'small' or 'big' the job seems for your car.

From regular maintenance to engine overhauls (a Racing Yellow Porsche 718 Boxster was hoisted up when Sgcarmart visited), customers can look forward to the exact sort of tender care their cars require here with the full suite of services Mirage Motorwerkz has expanded its capabilities to offer over the years.

Perhaps even better, however, is the assurance that everything that your car undergoes is handled at Mirage Motorwerkz's very premises, and by the people you see busying themselves around the multiple workstations. Admittedly, it's not uncommon for workshops to outsource a few tasks to third parties (due to a lack of expertise or equipment) - but customers will notice their cars remaining Mirage Motorwerkz through the 'downtimes' required for the respective types of servicing needs. 

But as Mr Goh. himself puts it, whether it's panel beating or ECU repairs, "when you have the ability, you'll want to do things in-house". 

Why, you may ask? The security of knowing that your car is being well taken care of is one part of the picture, but having the ability to do everything in-house also has other key benefits: Efficiency and quality control are both boosted.

Relentless renewal and improvement

Furthermore, Mirage Motorwerkz's in-house promise is built on its renowned and long-term reliance on the same diagnostic tools that are used by authorised dealers and agents representing continental brands like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. This ensures that customers' cars are given the best care by first being put through the most rigorous diagnoses before action is taken, so that any issues are accurately and effectively resolved.

Still, as a company that's been around for close to a decade, customers will also take comfort in finding only familiar faces here. Most of Mirage Motorwerkz's team are long-timers with Mr Goh., with even the more 'junior' ones having been on the team for at least three years. 

Being a company with a trusted history doesn't mean that Mirage Motorwerkz doesn't keep itself up to date. As the industry changes and cars become more modern and high-tech, the team routinely sets time aside to keep its knowledge pool updated and relevant. A good example is its comprehensive understanding of the mild hybrid and hybrid drivetrains we see on most new cars today - which has been developed as a result of regular training sessions.

And as yet another sign that the team is always eager to break new ground, it's recently also branched out into working on classic cars. (We also spied a Porsche 924S during our visit, in the midst of undergoing painstaking restoration.) Evidence once again of its widespread capabilities, even the welding for new panelling and new metal sheets for such precious machines is carried out onsite.

Nearly a decade of excellence

As nearly 10 years have come and gone, arguably the best testament to Mirage Motorwerkz's reputation is its loyal customer pool, of which we're told at least 60% are regular customers currently. Meanwhile, as the team continues to cast its net wide, the conversion rate for new customers (to regulars) stands at an even better 80%.
