Pinnacle Motors has been improving the public’s perception of Parallel Importers since they started in 1996. This company born from humble beginnings has grown into one of Singapore’s most successful companies.

Pinnacle Motors started life in 1996 as a small used car trader with only five staff and two desks. It is hard to imagine that the same Pinnacle Motors of today was born from such humble beginnings. The Singaporean company has certainly come a long way. In the last 12 years the company has stayed the course and is now a titan in Singapore’s used car export market with annual turnover of over $200 million.

Today the company has seven retail outlets spread across the island, a well equipped vehicle service centre and a very successful used car export division. Combined, Pinnacle now leads a workforce of over 300 spread over their global network of more than 50 countries, a far cry from the five when they first started.

Even more impressive is their facility located at Sin Ming Industrial Estate which was opened in May 2006. A sprawling one stop service centre which houses a lavishly furnished customer lounge area, a fully equipped workshop and a extensively stocked warehouse, the three year old facility stands testament to Pinnacle’s commitment to giving its customers the best service available.
    The Lounge area

Step into the service centre at Sin Ming and you’ll be greeted with a tastefully designed showroom come reception and lounge area. The friendly and approachable staff manning the reception booth will help customers arrange for their cars to be driven into the workshop for servicing while they wait in the customer lounge area.

    Mini showroom

Here, customers can observe the wide display of rims available from Pinnacle’s very own Mad Wheels series of rims. Also displayed here are the premium WALD bodykits from Germany that the company carries for the Toyota Wish, Honda Stream and several other models.

    Customer Waiting Area

Another example of Pinnacle’s commitment to providing excellent service is the customer waiting area that is located just next to the workshop. Here customers can relax in a massage chair or shoot a few rounds of pool while their cars are undergoing a professional and thorough servicing. The workshop has even catered to the IT savvy with free wireless internet connection spread throughout the lounge area and an internet station making sure that customers waiting for their cars won’t miss important emails from work or home

    Workshop

To set consumer’s minds at ease, Pinnacle runs a fully equipped workshop and maintenance centre which at 15,000 square ft, is the largest in Singapore that is operated by a parallel importer. The massive workshop is capable of servicing up to 50 cars a day with 11 cars being serviced at any one time on its eight heavy duty hoists on a scheduled appointment system to maximise efficiency.

    Advanced Diagnostic Equipment

In the workshop you find state of the art diagnostic computers that assist mechanics in anything from measuring brake bias to correcting wheel alignment and testing the ideal suspension setup on a vehicle. These large and professional diagnostic systems are not found in any other parallel importer operated workshops.
    Wheels and Tyres

At one corner of the workshop lies the advanced digital wheel alignment system that measures both horizontal and vertical wheel alignment ensuring optimum wheel contact with the road surface. Cars visiting the workshop for tyre services have their tyres pumped with nitrogen instead of air at no extra charge. Nitrogen being a less dense than air helps in reducing rolling resistance and thus improving fuel efficiency.

    Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

Even though CNG cars were being used commonly in European countries, the local motoring industry was reluctant to introduce it to the local market for fear that a lack of public interest would turn the eco-friendly technology into a white elephant over night. In the past year however, Pinnacle has once again proved itself to be a forerunner in the industry by seizing the vacuum in the local CNG market. Now the number one player in the market, the company has helped inspire consumers to pursue CNG as a viable source of alternative fuel that’s not only cost-effective but eco-friendly as well.

In an effort to maintain its position in the market, Pinnacle’s new workshop not only supplies, fits CNG kits to customer cars and service these cars but also sells vehicles that have been pre-installed with CNG kits, offering continued warranty for their products. Going the extra mile

On top of servicing cars sold through its retail showrooms, the workshop also attends to walk-in customers. After a visit, the workshop retains information about customer cars and the friendly workshop staff sends out friendly reminders to customers when a vehicle is due for servicing. Providing customers with a level of service excellence not easily found outside of manufacturer appointed showrooms.

    The Warehouse

Besides a full-fledged workshop, Pinnacle runs a fully stocked warehouse as well. Buying car accessories in bulk directly from suppliers and due to the economies of scale, they pass on the savings directly to the consumers. The warehouse is well stocked with a wide range of car accessories catered to a wide range of cars and differing body styles.

One of the more notable brands that they carry is WALD, a high quality bodykit from Germany. On top of bodykits, the warehouse also stocks a wide variety of tyres from popular brands like Falken and Yokohama.
Pinnacle also carries Mad Wheel rims their very own rim designs that look just as good as any O.Z or Enkei variants. On top of catering to the local market, the warehouse regularly ships these accessories to markets around the region as well.

Besides wheels, the company also carries its own brand of motor oils, Biggs Motor Oils and Lubricants which it is a sole distributor for.

    Looking to the future

Despite their present successes, Pinnacle is looking to expand their business further. True to that aim, Pinnacle embarked on a rebranding programme recently, consolidating all its various business entities under one brand name, Pinnacle International. The company plans to expand further in the coming years by increasing their market reach from the current 50 countries to 100. Judging from their recent achievements, Pinnacle is set to become an industry leader not only in the local market but on an international scale as well.
