  • A first look inside the new Audi Q9

Audi's upcoming flagship SUV sees electrically powered doors - a first for the brand - and a spacious interior that comfortably seats seven, among others.

Audi has offered a look into the spacious and exclusive interior of its first, large full-size SUV.

As evident in the seating design, space is the Q9's defining feature. Audi says that for maximum business-class comfort, drivers should choose the optional six-seat layout (it typically seats seven). Up front, Audi's sports seats plus offer both ventilation and massage functions.

In addition, all seats are partially power-adjustable as standard, with the third-row seatbacks able to be folded down individually via electric controls.

And for the first time in an Audi, all doors can be operated electrically. Entry and exit is easier thanks to its wide opening angle, while an extensive set of surround sensors with obstacle detection stops the door if there is not enough room for it to open.

The Q9 also comes with a 1.5 square metres standard panoramic sunroof that - at the press of a button - switches to one or more of the nine individually controllable segments in the laminated safety glass to opaque, aiding in glare protection. And when parked, the sunroof automatically turns opaque to prevent people from looking in.

In every model, contour lighting in the dashboard and doors accentuates the width of the interior. Full and atmospheric illumination is standard for the front doors and available as an option for the rear doors.

Audi is also expanding the range of interior options for the Q9 with new fabric and wood trims. Premium upholstery from wool such as alpaca fibre, Dinamica microfibre, leather and leatherette blends, and fine Nappa leather contribute to the elegant character of the Q9. The interior is further refined by decorative elements in fine grain ash natural, silk beige, lime structure natural, or carbon fibre weave with basalt grey accents.

Colour-coordinated trim elements throughout the cabin, along with the reduced use of glossy surfaces in favour of matt and textured materials, ensure a premium aesthetic and minimise fingerprints. New colours such as tamarind brown and stone beige round out the wide selection - ensuring a comfortable atmosphere to suit every taste. The result is an interior that exudes tranquillity and sophistication.

Other features include thoughtfully integrated storage solutions, a redesigned centre console with modern charging options, and a new aluminium rail system integrated into the sides of the trunk. Audi also includes a roof rack for the standard roof rails with every new Q9.

Audi has said that it will reveal the full potential of the Q9 at its world premiere in Q3 2026.
