Two new bus services will be introduced later this month, with enhancements made to two other routes, and the addition of a supplementary service, reported The Straits Times.
New service 990 will ply between Bukit Batok Bus Interchange and Jurong East MRT station, providing access to shopping malls in Jurong East and the upcoming Jurong General Hospital. Operator SMRT will commence the service on 15th November, and run it daily from 5:45am to midnight.
New SBS Transit service 201 will link residents in the Teban/Pandan Gardens and West Coast area to Clementi MRT station and Kent Ridge Bus Terminal. It will start on 23rd November, and operate from 5:45am to 11:30pm.
With the introduction of service 201, the route for service 189 will be amended to ply Clementi Avenue 1 before looping back to Bukit Batok Bus Interchange. The stretch along West Coast Road connecting to Clementi MRT station will continue to be served by service 175, and commuters should not be inconvenienced, said SBS Transit, SMRT and the Land Transport Authority in a joint statement yesterday.
SBS Transit's service 17A, which plies between Bedok North Avenue 4 and Bedok Bus Interchange, will have longer operating hours from 5:55am to 11:00pm daily from 16th November. A supplementary service, 43M, will be introduced on that day to complement service 43 and connect commuters between Punggol Bus Interchange and Serangoon Central.
