Aston Martin has revealed the new Vantage.

Under the bonnet, the new coupe is said to have received the biggest-ever jump in power and torque compared to the model it succeeds. Power for this new model now stands at 656bhp, while peak torque has been bumped to a total of 800Nm (the previous iteration produced a total of 503bhp alongside a peak torque of 685Nm).

This power upgrade comes courtesy of a host of improvements to the 4.0-litre Mercedes-AMG derived twin-turbo engine which include the adoption of modified cam profiles, optimised compression ratios, and larger turbos, alongside upgraded cooling, all said to have given the car a more visceral and vocal character.

Mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, this engine allows the Vantage to complete the century sprint in 3.5 seconds.

Extensive changes have also been made to Aston Martin's bonded aluminium structure to ensure the Vantage delivers the handling prowess this new power demands.

Up front, the double-wishbone suspension gets increased mounting point stiffness for improved on and off-centre steering feel, while a stiffer-yet-lighter front engine cross brace delivers increased torsional rigidity and lateral stiffness between the front suspension towers.

And at the back, the car also gets increased lateral strengthening between the rear suspension towers, which, Aston Martin states, delivers a 29% increase in stiffness under cornering load.

These upgrades are also supported by new intelligent Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers which deliver a 500% increase in their bandwidth of force distribution over those of the outgoing Vantage.

Aston Martin's own infotainment system is housed within a 10.25-inch screen featuring Pure Black touchscreen technology and supports full capacitive single and multi-finger gesture control

Rounding off the handling upgrades are new 21-inch forged rims as standard for the Vantage, as well as a brake system comprising of cast-iron 400mm front discs and 360mm rear discs with drilled faces for improved heat management and fade resistance. Carbon ceramic brakes, meanwhile, remain available as an added option. These are said to save 27kg in unsprung mass compared to the cast-iron braking system, improving ride quality and steering response.

On the exterior, the car is now 30mm wider than its predecessor, giving it a more muscular stance. This touch is also aided by the car's redesigned front, which gets a 38% larger recontoured veined grille aperture, which in turn delivers a 29% increase in mass airflow for additional cooling.

The car also gets frameless door mirrors and presenting door handles along its sides, while at the rear, there's now a wider rear bumper alongside enlarged quad exhaust tailpipes.

Moving onto the cabin, the Vantage now gets Aston Martin's in-house developed infotainment system, presented a 10.25-inch screen. Supportive sports seats also feature here, upholstered in supple and aromatic hand-stitched Bridge of Weir hides, while a 390W 11-speaker audio system is fitted as standard, although customers can opt for a 15-speaker, double amplified 1,170W Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system.

Production of the Aston Martin Vantage is due to commence in the first quarter of 2024, with first deliveries scheduled to begin during the second quarter 2024.
