  • Automobili Pininfarina electrifies Japan with two models

Automobili Pininfarina has brought its B95 hyper Barchetta, and its one-off Battista Cinquantacinque hyper GT to clients in Japan.

Clients in Japan were recently presented not just with Italy's most powerful and fastest road legal car - the all-new, one-off Battista Cinquantacinque - but also the B95 hyper Barchetta.

The Battista Cinquantacinque - thus far never seen before in public - is inspired by the 1955 Lancia Florida, integrating retro-inspired design with unparalleled performance. Its exterior is finished in a Blu Savoia Gloss paint, which is contrasted by the Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof, and finished off by the Brushed Anodised jewellery pack.

The one-off Battista Cinquantacinque, pictured above, will make its first appearance in Japan, alongside the B95 and PURA vision

The car's interior, on the other hand, is upholstered in bespoke Mahagoni. Performance-wise, the Battista is driven by four independent electric motors - powered by a 120kWh lithium-ion battery - which altogether put out 1,874bhp and 2,340Nm of torque. These figures allow the car to reach 0-100km/h in 1.86 seconds, while still having an estimated driving range of 476km.

The B95's debut in Japan also doubles up as the first time the Asian region is seeing the pure-electric hyper Barchetta - and first coach-built car - by the marque. The flowing open-topped bodywork contrasts with the technical details of the vehicle, providing a dramatic interpretation of a classic racer, underpinned by pure-electric performance.

Apart from these cars, Automobili Pininfarina will soon introduce its PURA Vision design concept, which is said to set a template for the design of its future models. The concept showcases the principles that transform the DNA of iconic models from Pininfarina SpA's past, to define the future, balancing inspiration from classic cars with futuristic elements.

The introduction of these cars into the Asian market is said to display Automobili Pininfarina's commitment towards expanding its global reach and delivering bespoke hypercars and experiences.
