  • BlueSG rises from the dead, now known as Flexar

Flexar will debut with more than 200 cars across 100 stations, with free registration for users aged 18 and above with a valid driving licence via Singpass.

In case you missed it, BlueSG used to be a well-known, car-sharing service until it ceased operations in August 2025. And now, it has been recently relaunched under a new name: Flexar.

The service - which completed a successful beta testing phase with close to 10,000 registrations in just two weeks - incorporates intelligent fleet and parking optimisation to improve vehicle availability, alongside transparent and competitive pricing, and additional features such as radar search and fare calculator shaped directly by user feedback.

At full scale, Flexar's network is said to be designed to support thousands of vehicles islandwide and ensure cars are consistently within convenient reach

Flexar will debut with more than 200 vehicles across 100 stations, strategically positioned in key residential neighbourhoods and major commuter corridors in the Central, North, Northeast, and East regions. The brand also said that it will expand across Singapore on a monthly basis.

And for those interested in trying out the newly revived service, Flexar offers onboarding for users aged 18 and above with a valid driving licence via Singpass, with no deposits or membership fees. It also provides a diverse range of vehicle options, ranging from the Hyundai Avante to the Toyota Sienta.

Billing is transparent, with trips charged on a simple per-minute block pricing model that keeps longer journeys cost-efficient. Rental rates include fuel through a seamless payment experience with multiple options, including digital wallets. Users can also opt to add Collision Damage Waiver coverage.

In addition, Flexar will also apply a temporary fuel surcharge, reviewed weekly in response to global oil conditions. This surcharge will be a fixed fee per rental when applicable, in order to improve pricing transparency and fairness for users. The brand has said that this is subject to change and will be removed when market conditions stabilise.

To mark its official launch, users who completed trips during Flexar's beta phase in April 2026 will receive additional vouchers to thank them for their participation, with additional incentives awarded to top feedback contributors.

A $10 welcome voucher will also be given to new users as part of a special promotion that runs from now till 18 May 2026, with Flexar promising to roll out additional weekly launch promotions throughout the month. This is also alongside referral rewards for users who invite friends and family to join the platform.
