Off-road enthusiasts look out! Ford has launched the Ranger Raptor here in Singapore.
The performance pickup comes here equipped with a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine that delivers a total of 206bhp and 500Nm of torque, which should prove handy when you're tackling sand pits and steep inclines.
This engine comes paired to a 10-speed gearbox, a permanent four-wheel drive system and a two-speed transfer case, as well as a rear locking differential. A total of seven selectable drive modes are offered in the Ranger Raptor, including a 'Baja' mode, which sets the Raptor up for high-speed off-roading.
Handling on both roads and the tough stuff is assured thanks to the use of Fox shock absorbers, while the Raptor also gets a 2.3mm-thick high-strength steel bash plate, along with shielding for the transfer case, and a tough underbody to protect key components including the radiator, steering, engine sump, and front differential.
And should extra assistance be needed, the Ford Ranger Raptor also comes with tow hooks at the front and rear of the vehicle allowing easy recovery.
On the exterior, the Ranger Raptor is instantly distinguished from the regular Ford Ranger thanks to its bold 'Ford' lettering on the grille, as well as its flared wheel arches. Those iconic C-clamp head lights are additionally Matrix LED items on the Ranger Raptor.
