Borneo Motors (Singapore) Pte Ltd has finally unveiled the highly anticipated Lexus NX last evening at the new KF1 Karting Circuit - the car that will go head to head with the Audi Q5, the BMW X3, the Porsche Macan as well as the Range Rover Evoque.
The new NX is available in two model variants, the 2.5-litre NX Hybrid and the 2.0-litre NX Turbo - Lexus' first-ever turbocharged offering, heralding in a new era of evocative driving matched with class-leading environmental performance. While the NX Hybrid was launched yesterday, the petrol powered NX Turbo will be arriving only in the first quarter of 2015, along with an F Sport variant featuring added aggressive design cues and a more spirited driving performance.
"The new NX is the embodiment of Lexus' commitment to create cars that are bold in design, fun-to-drive and innovative, while complemented with the luxurious comfort and refinement synonymous with the brand. I am confident that drivers will be attracted by the NX's bold and striking design, its agile and sporty drive, the luxurious comforts and the thoughtful innovations, all combined in one exceptional package," said Mr. Klaus Redomske, Marketing Director, Borneo Motors Singapore.
With 194bhp and 210Nm of torque under the bonnet, the NX Hybrid delivers lively performance with its instantaneous power and seamless acceleration, matched with a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 5.7L/100km. Equipped with the award-winning Lexus Hybrid Drive - seamlessly orchestrating power from both the 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and electrical motor - the NX Hybrid is incredibly smooth and quiet, offering a refined driving experience that is unparalleled.
The NX Turbo, on the other hand, features Lexus' first ever turbo engine. The NX Turbo is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo direct injection gasoline engine that is seamlessly matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission specially tuned for the NX. The direct injection turbo engine features the world's first combination of a cylinder head with an integrated water-cooled exhaust manifold and a twin scroll turbo charger.
At press time, the NX Hybrid is going for $247,000 and $259,000 for the Executive S1 and the Luxury L1 variants respectively. All Lexus Hybrids including the new NX Hybrid enjoy a five-year extended hybrid warranty and a full 10-year hybrid battery warranty.
