Starting from 30 June 2025, an access code will replace the use of the last 4 characters of a vehicle owner's identification number when accessing three specific vehicle-related digital services on LTA's OneMotoring website.
LTA has indicated that this is to enhance access security, as these digital services contain sensitive information. This move likely also comes about as concerns rise about the privacy of NRIC numbers. The following services will now require the access code:
- Enquire PARF/COE Rebate for Registered Vehicle
- Enquire PQP Payable for Category C Early Turnover Scheme
- Enquire Vehicle Transfer Fee

How to request access code?
To request for an access code, vehicle owners need to log in to the OneMotoring website (> Popular Digital Service > Request Access Code) using Singpass to authorise the sending of access codes. The access code can be sent to nominated third parties (such as a motor dealer) to retrieve information on the vehicle owner's behalf.
The access code will replace the current use of the last 4 characters of the owner's ID, with the intent to improve overall security and prevent misuse of digital services. There will not be any fees for requesting or using the access code.
Foreign vehicle owners with Singpass can also log in to the OneMotoring website to authorise sending of access codes to nominated recipients.
For vehicle owners with multiple registered vehicles (including fleet owners), an access code can be requested for either one or all of their vehicles. This will allow owners to conveniently control and manage access codes for all their registered vehicles.
How to use access code?
On the OneMotoring website, the vehicle owner may input the mobile number of an intended third party recipient, who will then receive an SMS with the access code. An option to provide an email address is also available.
The access code is valid for 14 days, and can be used multiple times. If need be, the owner can log in to the OneMotoring website to revoke the access code, which will immediately terminate its validity. If an access code is suspected to be compromised, the vehicle owner should immediately revoke it.
What if the vehicle owner is uncontactable?
In circumstances where the vehicle owner is uncontactable (e.g. deceased), further assistance can be found by contact LTA via the online contact form on the LTA website.
What about other digital services?
Other digital services, such as road tax renewal, will not require an access code. These services will not contain sensitive information, and will continue to operate as is.
When will this come into force?
30 June 2025. The use of the last 4 characters of the owner's ID will no longer be valid from 30 June 2025. The three digital services will immediately require using access codes.
