    Fans of the petrol-burning iteration of the Cayenne need not fear: Porsche states it will continue to sell and develop both generations of the SUV.

    After transitioning the Macan to electric power only, Porsche has announced that the fourth generation of the Cayenne will also make to move to become an electric only car.

    Interestingly, the third generation of the Cayenne will continue to be offered and will still get upgraded and will still be offered alongside this new all-electric model. The third generation car has already received what Porsche states is one of the most extensive product upgrades in the history of the firm this 2024, and Porsche additionally confirms that it will continue to develop the car and its petrol-burning and hybrid iterations with major technology investments.

    Porsche states that it will continue to invest in development of the current generation Porsche Cayenne, even after the reveal of its new, all-electric iteration

    These will be directed at improving the efficiency of its V8 to ensure that it continues to comply with legislative requirements in the future, amongst others.

    Regarding the new all-electric Porsche Cayenne, Porsche states that the car will be based on its PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform and will make use of an 800V architecture. The first prototypes of the new car have already made their first drives on the proving grounds of its development centre in Weissach.

    The firm is aiming to have its prototypes already completed several million test kilometres all over the world under extreme climatic and topographical conditions before its launch date, to ensure that its functions meet its quality standards.
