Omoda and Jaecoo bring five-car line-up to VivoCity

If you've caught EV fever and are looking to check out some options, then you might want to head down to Omoda and Jaecoo roadshow in VivoCity, which is taking place from 1-7 Jun 2026.

Here, you can get up close to the Jaecoo 5, a compact electric crossover with a premium character. Don't let the minimalist interior layout fool you, though, for the Jaecoo 5 has a long list of standard features.

These include soundproof front windows, ventilated front seats, 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and ambient lighting with 64 selectable colours. The single electric motor delivers 155kW (208bhp) and 288Nm of torque. Fed by a 58.9kWh battery, the Jaecoo 5 offers a WLTP city range of 601km and a combined range of 402km.

For those seeking more relaxed performance, there's the Omoda E5. It has impressed many with its sleek exterior and coupe-like vibe, along with an elegant cabin filled with soft-touch surfaces.

In terms of performance, the E5's electric motor puts out 99kW (133bhp) and 340Nm of torque, giving it a century sprint time of 11.1 seconds. With a 61kWh, it offers a combined driving range of 430km.

Outdoorsy buyers, on the other hand, may be drawn to the Jaecoo J6, which has the styling of a rugged and boxy off-roader. However, rather than being rough inside, the cabin is cushy and practical, with a 450-litre boot that caters to most needs.

In addition, the J6 is available in both Cat A and Cat B variants. The former offers 99kW (133bhp) and rear-wheel drive, while the all-wheel drive version delivers 205kW (275bhp) and has a slightly larger battery (69.77kWh versus 65.69kWh).

Now, for buyers who aren't ready to take the plunge into electric vehicles yet, there's the Jaecoo 7, which has a plug-in hybrid powertrain. That means there's an electric motor and a petrol engine that work together. But unlike regular hybrids, plug-in hybrids have larger batteries and can run on electricity alone for longer distances.

They can also be plugged into a charger (hence their name) to be charged. However, should the driver choose not to, he or she can just pump petrol and use the engine and regenerative braking to recharge the battery.
With a full-tank and a fully charged battery, the Jaecoo 7 is claimed to offer 1,200km of driving range, which should come in handy for those who enjoy road trips.

Last but not the least, there's the Jaecoo 8. This seven-seater, plug-in hybrid is the brand's flagship model here and is aimed at family men and women who prefer an SUV to an MPV.

Its upmarket features include ventilated outer second-row seats in addition to the front seats, 14-speaker Sony audio system, a three-mode fragrance system, Continuous Damping Control system, plus a long list of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

With two electric motors in addition to the petrol engine, the Jaecoo 8 offers a combined output of 315kW (422bhp) and 580Nm of torque. Zero to 100km/h is accomplished in 5.8 seconds - making it the quickest and most powerful Jaecoo model here.
