In the second round of bidding in February, premiums across all Certificate of Entitlement (COE) categories increased.
Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, increased by $612 (2.38%) and ended at $26,301.
Premiums for Cat B, larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, increased by $894 (2.59%) and ended at $35,403.
In Cat E, the open category, premiums went up by $1,357 (3.84%), with premiums closing at $36,667.
With the COE supply reduced for the February to April period, it is unsurprising that premiums increased across the board, and will likely continue to go up in subsequent bidding rounds. Cat B and E premiums continue their steady upwards trend since the start of 2019, which indicate a slightly steadier demand for premium cars.
