  • Private bus operators will complement five busy feeder routes

Four popular feeder routes will get a service boost this month, as private bus operators will start plying short services on selected routes.

Private bus operators will complement five state run feeder routes, as the former will run buses along the busiest stretches of routes 222, 240, 268 and 912, during peak hours to ease crowding and reduce waiting times. With the exclusion of public holidays, the private bus operators will run at least five trips hourly during the weekday morning and evening peak periods.

From 14thApril, Commute Solutions and BT&Tan Transport will run service 912P, between 6:00am and 8:00am as well as between 5:15pm and 7:15pm, starting from Woodlands Regional Interchange.

Tong Tar Transport Services will commence Service 240P from Lakeside MRT station, starting 22nd of April, between 6:00am and 7:30am as well as between 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Service 222P will be run by ComfortDelGro from Bedok MRT station - commencing 29th April -  between 5:45am and 7:45am as well as 4:45pm and 6:45pm.

Service 268P will begin from the bus stop outside Ang Mo Kio MRT Station, between 6:30am and 8:30am as well as 5:30pm and 7:30pm, starting 6th of May.

These short services are results of an announcement made by the Transport Ministry last year - where it revealed it would tap on private operators to enhance the services provided by public transport operators - under the $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme.
