Rolls-Royce has started production on a new extension at Goodwood.

The new extension was designed to blend into its surroundings, an important trait as Goodwood is housed within the U.K.'s West Sussex countryside, near the South Downs National Park. Rolls-Royce current site thus features the largest ‘living roof’ in the U.K., which makes it nearly invisible from beyond its boundaries, and the new extension will build upon this legacy with a design that is sympathetic to the existing building and local landscape.

The new 40,000sqm extension will hose the firm's new Surface Finish Centre and create space for its expanding bespoke activities, the latter of which is said to have reached record levels in 2024, driven by the substantial growth in client requests for more technically complex, challenging and highly individualised commissions. The new extension also represents the single largest investment in the Home of Rolls-Royce since the facility opened in 2003.
