While the many other manufacturers have been announcing production cuts and even temporary stoppages, Skoda is experiencing better-than-expected sales for its newly-launched Superb.

Harvest Automobiles, the authorised distributor for Skoda in Singapore, recently launched the Superb in Singapore and have also been experiencing remarkable response.

Managing Director of Harvest Automobiles, Daniel Au, is confident of Skoda's sales in Singapore. He said, "It's definitely value for money compared, to our competitors, because there are more options for what they're paying for. And in terms of technology, design and gearbox, we're not at a loss to any of our competitors."

He added, "In terms of build quality, we're just as good as, or even better, than our rivals. In economic times like these, with such pricing and options, it's simply value for money."

Skoda has increased its fleet sales forecast for the model by over 40 percent to 2,000 vehicles this year.

Commenting on the result Martin Burke, Head of Fleet Sales at Skoda said: "We are very encouraged by the response to the Superb from fleet operators. With strong predicted residual values contributing to excellent whole-life costs it is clear the Superb is the right product for this market. Our customers are seeing the value with the top spec Elegance model accounting for 50.2 percent of all Superbs sold."
The Superb is fast becoming the choice of operators and users looking for luxury at a reasonable cost. With the recent launch in Europe of the GreenLine edition, Skoda expects its market share to continue to expand.
