On top of an attractive design silhouette, the MG5 EV promises exceptional mileage while being loaded with advanced safety technology.

The MG5 EV is stretching its outstanding value proposition even further with the introduction of a new longer-range model.

The MG5 EV offers the flexibility and practicality of a station wagon, combined with outstanding driving dynamics and zero driving exhaust emissions. The new longer range MG5 variant will join the brand's rapidly expanding electric car portfolio, which includes the MG ZS EV and the MG HS plug-in hybrid.

The MG5 EV's silhouette incorporates a sleek, low-slung, and aerodynamic design.
With a 400km range from its 61kWh battery, the longer range MG5 EV charges to 80% in around an hour. It is powered by a 154bhp, 260Nm electric motor, enabling acceleration from zero to 97km/h in a relatively brisk 7.3 seconds.

The MG5 EV sits much lower than most, with the water-cooled battery pack integrated into the car's chassis, giving it an low centre of gravity and excellent dynamics as well as a sleek, low-slung, and aerodynamic design.

It was designed from the outset to generate global appeal, so it sports a classic silhouette - a smart, low-roofed tourer with a distinctive 'kick' towards the rear, proving that being battery-powered does not affect practicality nor appearance.

The large, versatile boot - the car's unique selling point - is accessed from a wide tailgate opening. With the rear seats up and load cover retracted, the MG5 EV's boot space stands at 578 litres. The load capacity increases to an astonishing 1,456 litres when the rear seats are folded away.

The centrepiece of the cabin is an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen
The MG5 EV's smart design continues into the cabin, the centrepiece of which is an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen with smartphone mirroring capability, compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Of note is the inclusion of MG's clever rotary gear selector, which debuted on the MG ZS EV.

Also new on the long range model is the addition of MG's MG Pilot Driver Assistance System. MG Pilot is a comprehensive suite of driver assist technologies that complements the driver and gives added confidence on the road. It offers a selection of warning and alert features to assist the driver, such as Active Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Jam Assist, in addition to both active and passive safety systems.
