The van driven by Mohamed Mahadisyah Mohamed Rasid crashed onto a stationary lorry, and killed two workers at the back of the truck. However, the driver did not stop to render assistance after the accident, which took place on 12th January this year.
The 31-year old driver is believed to have been arrested after he fled the scene.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) had to extricate Mr Abu Bakar Siddique using hydraulic tools as he was stuck in between the two vehicles. He was pronounced dead on the scene, along with Robin Miah Idris Ali who was his fellow worker. Both workers were laying cables and unloading goods from the lorry when the fatal accident happened.
Mohamed Mahadisyah will also be charged with causing hurt to a pedestrian through his rash act. His case will be heard in court next month.
