It would appear that 'Less is more" comes true in the department of subcompact models as Volvo plans to develop a smaller subcompact model, which is smaller than the V40 introduced earlier in July.
The Swedish automaker is reportedly considering a new model which would rival the MINI, but for this to happen they will have to find a partner to share costs, along with getting a smaller engine that could be co-developed with parent Zhejiang Geely of China, according to an interview given to Automotive News Europe by Volvo’s CEO Jacoby.
He also mentioned that those who buy premium cars are willing to pay extra for a subcompact model. However, Jacoby was also quick to cool speculation on the arrival of this new model, especially when the V40 was launched just barely a month ago.
