Volvo has released a teaser image with its announcement that it willl unveil its range-topping S90 sedan at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January.
Two shadowy renderings of the S90 show the profile and rear of the car, even if the shots don't show any kind of key details.
The S90 will replace the aging S80 next year and will ride on the same Scalable Product Architecture platform as the award-winning XC90. The SUV and sedan will likely share some powertrains, and Volvo will eventually offer a plug-in hybrid version of the four-door. The company will also launch a V90 wagon with the same underpinnings as another option in its 90-series of vehicles, and there will possibly be a Cross Country model too.
