Following the Ora Good Cat 03, an all-electric funky-looking hatchback that was launched last August, Singapore can expect the sleek-looking sedan version to glide into our shores in the fourth quarter of this year.

The car, dubbed the Ora 07, is a fully-electric five-seater coupe sedan that resembles a mix of European makes and will go up against the likes of the BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 6 as well as the Tesla Model 3. After getting behind the wheel of the Ora 07 for a short period of time, here's what we currently know about the car so far.

The Performance variant of the Ora 07 is a mighty quick coupe sedan

1. Two variants are available

While specifications for Singapore are still underway, we do know that there are two different variants available for the Ora 07 - Long Range and Performance. The former comes with a single motor that churns out some 200bhp and 340Nm of torque, allowing the car to hit the 100km/h mark from nought in 7.9 seconds.

The more powerful Performance variant, on the other hand, comes equipped with two motors, which endow the car with 402bhp and 680Nm of twisting force. These figures allows the juicier variant to smash the century sprint in just 4.3 seconds.

2. Useable range on tap

Regardless of which variants come to Singapore (or it could be both), both of them should be equipped with an 83.5kWh battery pack. As such, the Long Range variant should have about 600km of range, while the Performance will have a lower but nonetheless useable 480km. These impressive numbers are based on the WLTP cycle.

As a comparison, the base model of the BYD Seal comes equipped with a smaller 61.4kWh battery that's good for 460km. The higher specced variant, however, comes with an 82.6kWh battery that will provide you with 570km of range when it's fully charged. On the other hand, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 currently on sale in Singapore comes with a 53kWh lithium-ion battery that's capable of 429km of range.

3. Looking like a high-end model

So while both variants of the Ora 07 put them above its competitors in terms of range, questions remain regarding its design. Based on first impressions, the car is undoubtedly sleek-looking to this pint-sized writer, with a sloping roofline and a pair of oval-shaped headlamps that resemble the Porsche Panamera. The flushed door handles undoubtedly keep things looking neat and tidy, too.

Round the back, taillights give hints at the Bentley Continental GT on first glance, with the Ora moniker boldly taking centre stage. The Performance variant should also come with retractable spoiler for aerodynamic purposes.

But it's truly the cabin that impresses. Wrapped in premium brown leather (most probably synthetic in some areas), the Ora 07 is less funky and more upmarket than the 03, and arguably appears to be more premium than its peers. Silver trim with three circular knobs and several buttons occupy the centre console, further enhancing the premium look.

4. Sufficient space for the family

Thankfully, the premium look and feel come with functionality. Rear seats will have no issue fitting three Asian adults, thanks to its flat floor. And while boot space figures are currently unknown, it does look sufficient for your barang-barang as well as weekly commitment to the supermarket.

However, legroom seems lagging compared to its fellow peers in its class. For instance, with a wheelbase of over 2.8m, it falls short of the BYD Seal's 2.9m as well as the Ioniq 6's 2.96m.

5. It's coming to Singapore

Good news is that interested buyers of the Ora 07 will be able to get up close and personal with the electric vehicle when it arrives on our shores sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. Prices and local specifications will be announced by authorised dealer Cycle & Carriage at a later date nearing its launch.
