Back in 1993, with few other local workshops dealing with automotive transmission, Raymond Khang founded KATC Autotrans (formally known as Khang Auto Transmission Centre) to cater to motorists' needs. Khang worked with automotive workshops and dealers in the initial years of his start up, before offering direct services to car owners.

What makes KATC Autotrans different from its competitors?

Having been through professional training in Germany and United States, Khang has acquired substantial knowledge in the field. As such, he ensures that every gearbox servicing is carried out using proper procedures.

He also understands the nature of the industry, which requires him to keep up with times. In the early years of start up, his company was the first in Singapore to be equipped with a Dyno test system for transmission.Khang is also constantly upgrading himself. For instance, he just returned from a dual-clutch transmission training course in China. In the coming months, Khang will also be attending courses related to nine and ten-speed transmissions, which are fitted to some of the latest car models in the market such as the Range Rover Evoque, Jeep Cherokee and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

Khang has been a member of the Auto Transmission Service Group (ATSG) since 1995. The ATSG is a community that proactively organises seminars, trainings and exhibitions to promote knowledge of automotive transmission and update members of the latest news in the industry.
