  • Techron D Concentrate offers superior cleaning on diesel fuel injection systems

Caltex's Techron Concentrate fuel system cleaner is now available for diesel-powered vehicles, with the new Techron D Concentrate.

Is my diesel engine really clean?

Over time, harmful deposits can build up in your vehicle's fuel injection system after many years or kilometres of driving. Depending on your vehicle's diesel fuel injection technology, whether it is Direct Injection Unit Injector or High Pressure Common Rail, you may face different types of deposit problems.

These deposits could come about as a result of higher pressure and engine temperatures for newer, more efficient combustion technology, or the use of low-quality diesel and biodiesel blend. If left unchecked, your driving experience may eventually be compromised, as your vehicle may experience a loss in power and performance, hesitation during acceleration, cold starts and poorer fuel economy.

    So what should I do?

To help clear harmful deposits in your vehicle's diesel engine, it is highly recommended to dose it with Caltex's Techron® D Concentrate.

    What is Techron® D Concentrate?

Developed by Caltex, Techron® D Concentrate, with Precision Clean technology, is uniquely designed to be a one-tank cleanup solution. It contains Caltex's Techron® D, the same chemistry, which is found in Caltex diesel fuels, and is now available in a concentrated bottle form for deep cleaning.

Caltex has previously offered Techron® Concentrate Plus for owners of petrol-powered vehicles, but has now introduced Techron® D Concentrate for diesel vehicles. Featuring a unique formula that bonds with and breaks apart carbon deposits effectively, Techron® D Concentrate promises maximum cleaning performance in a convenient and easy-to-use solution.

    Is it really effective?

Techron®D Concentrate has been tested using various industry standard tests (for example: XUD-9, DW10). It removes the natural build-up of carbon deposits on the fuel injection system, and cleans internal diesel injector deposits across a range of injector technologies.

Techron® D Concentrate also contains Cetane Improver, which helps to improve cold starting, and lowers your vehicle's emissions.

Techron® D Concentrate will not harm after-treatment devices such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs). With Techron® D Concentrate, you are likely to experience a smoother and better drive. The difference you will experience will depend on how much deposits have been built up in your fuel injection system.

    How do I use it?

When your fuel tank is running low, simply head to the nearest service station, and pour a full bottle of Techron® D Concentrate into your fuel tank. Each bottle contains 473ml of Techron® D Concentrate, and is best used for vehicles with a diesel fuel tank capacity up to 80 litres.

For larger fuel tanks of more than 80 litres, a second bottle treatment may be required to experience the full benefits. Caltex recommends using about 60ml of Techron® D Concentrate for every 10 litres of fuel, and one should use Techron® D Concentrate for every 5,000km of driving for the best results.

After pouring Techron® D Concentrate into your fuel tank, simply fill up your tank with diesel, and the cleaning will begin as soon as you start driving.

    Where do I get it?

Caltex Techron® D Concentrate is available at all Caltex petrol stations islandwide, and retails for $21.80. From now to 31st January 2018, Caltex is running a special promotion, where consumers can buy one bottle and get a second bottle for 50 percent off the retail price. For more information on Caltex and its products, please visit its website or approach any of its friendly staff at any of its stations.
