Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew thinks that more could have been done to assist motorists before the opening of the Marina Coastal Expressway.
Alarmed by the heavy congestion around the MCE yesterday, motorists have decided to tweak travel plans in the forthcoming days to avoid jams in the area.
Traffic on the sprawling new MCE was heavy, with thousands of motorists and commuters finding themselves stuck in traffic for as long as two hours.
