Finnish firm Donut Lab has unveiled what it claims to be the world's first production solid-state battery, set to debut on an electric motorbike in Q1 2025.
The modified EQS was able to complete its trip from Stuttgart, Germany to Malmo, Sweden without needing to recharge, and still had 137km of range to spare.
The all solid-state battery cells, provided by Solid Power, promise higher energy density compared to those currently used in production EVs.
The all-solid-state batteries will be developed only by Honda and will begin its application into its future electrified models.
Since it was built in 1935, the plant has produced some of the most important engines for both Nissan and Japan, including the L20ET and VG engine family.
Nissan has unveiled a new prototype production facility for laminated all-solid-state battery cells, which could shorten charging times of electric vehicles.
