Citroen is offering a revised range of engines for its C5 as part of its 2010 model year updates

Two new engines will be introduced for the C5 for 2010. The first is a 1.6 litre 16V petrol engine co-developed with the BMW Group that replaces the 2.0 litre 16V with 143bhp. The other new engine is a 2.0 litre HDi 16V diesel that replaces both the old 140bhp 2.0 litre HDi 16V engine and the 2.2 litre HDi 16V with 173bhp.

The 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol unit produces 155bhp and 240Nm, and Citroen says that this engine has a 8 percent increase in power over the outgoing version, while at the same time being more fuel efficient and cleaner.

The new 2.0 litre HDi 16 V diesel meanwhile has an output of 160bhp and 340Nm, which Citroen claims is a 14 percent increase in power over the old 2.0 litre diesel, as well as a 3 percent increase in fuel economy.
