Designed and built by Mattel and Bandito Brothers, the Hot Wheels Rip Rod is an evolution of the show car that was presented at Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show last year - where it was featured on a trailer pulled by a special Ford Transit Connect with Hot Wheels livery.
The Ford Racing team in the U.S.A and Europe worked with Bandito Brothers on the integration of the critically acclaimed 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine - which contains as much as 138bhp in a Ford Fiesta. The same engine was also named International Engine of the Year, consecutively, for three years.
Ford Racing has not revealed performance figures or whether it would grace SEMA once again later in November, but with looks and performance straight out of Mad Max's dystopian future, the Hot Wheels Rip Rod looks more than capable to kicking up a storm, as previewed in the above teaser video.
