Ineos Automotive has launched a five-seat double cab Chassis variant of the Grenadier Quartermaster pick-up. The new vehicle is targeted at specialist vehicle converters and commercial vehicle body builders.
It should come as no surprise that the new Chassis Cab was engineered to deliver a combination of off-road capabilities and load-carrying versatility. At the same time, however, Ineos Automotive says that the pickup also offers comfort, safety, refinement and features which are expected by drivers in this day and age.
Similar to the original Quartermaster, the Chassis Cab is fitted with a 3,227mm wheelbase. The model also contains an exposed ladder frame, located behind the passenger cabin, which gives both customers and aftermarket vehicle converters a wide range of options for body-building. The range of options is further enhanced by the vehicle's 3,500kg towing capacity.
There are multiple similarities between the Chassis Cab and the Quartermaster, including the five-seat double cab and the full box-section ladder frame chassis. Additionally, the two variants share the same beam axles, two-speed transfer case, and up to three locking differentials.
Customers are also able to decide on their ideal choice of power for the Chassis Cab - between BMW's turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol, or diesel engines. Regardless of the engine choice, the vehicle gets power sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF.
As with other Grenadier models, the Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab will be built in Hambach, France, at the manufacturing facility acquired from Mercedes-Benz in January 2021.
