Jeep has unveiled the 2024 Gladiator at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, U.S.A.
The updated off-road pickup now gets a redesigned seven-slot grille, mirroring the one that now sits on the updated Wrangler. This grille utilises neutral grey metallic bezels and gets a body-colour surround. This redesigned grille is additionally said to improve the cooling efficiency of the Gladiator.
Further back, the Jeep Gladiator has also lost the steel mast antenna present on the outgoing model. This is replaced by one that is integrated into the front windshield, eliminating the risk of it getting caught on any shrubbery or tree limbs overhead.
In the cabin, the Jeep Gladiator now gets a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. This system will run the firm's fifth generation Uconnect 5 system, said to deliver operating speeds five times faster when compared to the previous generation. The new screen also utilises full-array local dimming backlight technology which allows it to deliver improved visibility, critical when driving with the roof down, or when the doors of the vehicle are removed.
The Uconnect 5 Nav system will also come with the Jeep Adventure Guides app, which comes with detailed guides and maps for the 62 Jeep Badge of Honour trails. Owners may opt to upgrade to a premium subscription that unlocks a full catalogue of over 3,000 trail guides.
Also new in the cabin in a wrapped instrument panel that gets new soft-touch surfaces. A new AMPS bracket also now features at the top of the dash for mounting electronic accessories.
The off-road pickup continues to utilise a body-on-frame platform and a five-link coil suspension setup. 'Mojave X' and 'Rubicon X' trim models also now get a full-time transfer case, integrated off-road camera, and front and rear steel bumpers as standard, while 'Willys' trim models now get a Tru-Lok rear-axle locker and a dedicated 'Off-road+' driving mode.
Power is provided by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine that develops 281bhp and 353Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission as standard although customers may also opt for an eight-speed automatic.
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is set to arrive in dealerships across the U.S.A before the end of 2023.
