Rimac has announced another major milestone in its history. It will join forces with iconic automotive brand, Bugatti Automobiles, to create a new automotive and technological powerhouse: Bugatti Rimac LLC.
In an industry defined by speed, flexibility, innovation and sustainability, the Croatian automaker has proven its capability to set - and exceed - existing performance and technological benchmarks. The deal will unite Rimac's technical expertise with Bugatti's 110 years of heritage, design, and engineering prowess.
As part of the deal, Rimac Group will be the major shareholder in the venture, holding a 55% stake.
Additionally, the development, production and supply of Rimac's EV components will be separated into a new entity - Rimac Technology, wholly owned by the Rimac Group. Rimac Technology will be an independent company working with car manufacturers around the world.
Mate Rimac, the CEO of Rimac Group, will run both Bugatti Rimac and the new division, Rimac Technology. Bugatti and Rimac will nonetheless continue as separate brands, with each retaining their existing production facilities, automotive systems, as well as distribution channels.
Bugatti Rimac represents the company that will develop the future of both Bugatti and Rimac vehicles, by allowing both automotive heavyweights to pool together resources in research and development, production and other areas.
Both brands will continue to operate independently, with Rimac Automobili retaining its current premises on the outskirts of Zagreb, Croatia and Bugatti production continuing in Molsheim, France.
