SBS Transit will be offering free rides on its bus and train services on National Day this Sunday to mark SG50, reported The Straits Times. This will extend to non-basic services such as Parks, Chinatown Direct and Night Owl bus services, SBS Transit said in a press release on Monday.
Commuters will not have to tap their fare cards when they board buses that day as the fare gates at all its train stations will also be left open to grant free access throughout the day. According to SBS Transit, the operating hours of its train and selected bus services from the 6th to 9th of August, will be extended. Train services on the North East Line (NEL) and Downtown Lines as well as on the Sengkang and Punggol LRT systems will be extended by about half an hour.
It will also extend the last bus timings of 26 selected bus services.
They are: 51A, 60A, 63M, 181, 222, 225G, 228, 229, 232, 238, 240, 241, 243G, 261, 269, 282, 291, 292, 293, 315, 325, 333, 334, 358, 359 and 410W.
