The rumour mills run tirelessly day after day and the latest piece of rumour suggests that Toyota is currently in plans to develop a new rear-wheel drive hatchback.

According to the source of the rumoured report, the hatch will be positioned as a younger sibling to the popular GT86 and will be based on a re-imagined version of the Rush crossover.

Details are scarce at present but according to Motor Trend, the car could come fitted with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that develops approximately 150bhp.

If the rumour checks out, the model is expected to arrive on scene sometime in early 2016.
