    Volvo has revealed some of the safety features designed for the city that are set to feature in its new, all-electric EX30 crossover.

    Volvo has revealed that the new all-electric EX30 is set to get a host of safety innovations.

    Beyond sporting what is described as a top-notch structural design comprising of a strengthened roof alongside A, B and C pillars, the car's chassis has also been designed to use various forms of high-strength steel that offset the impact from a possible crash in an efficient way. The Volvo EX30 is also set to sport a far-side airbag on the inside of the driver's seat, designed to help reduce head and thorax injuries in the event of a side impact.

    The car will additionally get a door opening alert, which can warn you through visual and audio cues whenever you're about to open the door in front of a passing cyclist or other traffic user.

    In the cabin, the car will sport a new advanced driver alert system as standard that utilises a sensor to detect if the driver is distracted, drowsy or otherwise inattentive. The car is additionally set to get a new intersection auto brake feature, designed to help you avoid accidents at intersections by applying the brakes should it detect that a car is crossing your path unexpectedly.
