Renault has revealed its updated Captur crossover.
The new car shares the firm's CMF-B platform utilised by the Renault Clio, and now stretches out at a total length of 4,239mm and a total width of 1,797mm, placing it just a touch longer and wider than the Opel Mokka.
Just like the new Renault Clio, the new Captur now gets a front that features horizontal air intakes at either end of the front bumper which direct cool air to its front brakes. Both of these are emphasised by the car's daytime running lights.
The Renault Captur also gets a new multi-faceted grille that utilises a dark glossy background and transparent inserts, and houses the firm's new Nouvel'R one-piece logo. At the rear, the car now gets a transparent housing for its lights that allow it to reveal the structure of its light units and also gets a redesigned diffuser.
Customers will be able to opt for their Renault Captur in a total of six exterior colours including Arctic White, Oyster Grey, Diamond Black, Ceramic Grey, Iron Blue and Flame Red, while a two-tone colour scheme which finishes the roof and door mirrors of the car in Diamond Black is also available.
Renault states that the new Captur has gained new dashboard screens which measure up to 10.25-inches. A new OpenR Link infotainment system with Google built-in, meanwhile, can be accessed through a new 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen.
Elsewhere in the cabin, the car also now sports new upholstery. Those who opt for the ‘Techno’ trim will get grey and heather grey seat fabric, while 'Evolution' trim cars will feature yellow stitching on their fabrics.
Those who opt for the new 'Esprit Alpine' trim will get their cars finished with a multi-textured fabric. This trim will also feature the French flag on its side piping, and get seatbelts with blue top-stitching, aluminium-plated sports pedals, branded door sills and a special steering wheel.
Further back, the Renault Captur now offers a total boot space of 536 litres, and as its predecessor, it continues to feature a rear bench which can be pushed forward by a total of 16cm, to expand the total boot space by a further 114 litres.
The Renault Capture is set to be offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that produces 90bhp and 160Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
A hybrid drivetrain that utilises a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine is also offered. This drivetrain produces a total of 145bhp alongside 205Nm of torque, and comes paired to a smart automatic dog clutch gearbox.
The new Renault Captur will be built at the firm's Valladolid plant in Spain, and is set to arrive in European markets by the third quarter of 2024.
