Starting from 1 January 2025, ride-hailing apps such as Grab, Gojek, and ComfortDelGro's CDG Zig will increase their prices per trip to cover costs that will come about due to the upcoming Platform Workers Act, due to commence on the same date.

Grab will increase its platform fee by 20 cents (up from 70 cents to 90 cents), Gojek will increase its platform fee by 30 cents to 50 cents (up from 60 cents to a dollar, to 90 cents to a dollar and 50 cents), and ComfortDelGro will raise its platform fee by 30 cents to 50 cents (up from 70 cents, to a dollar and a dollar and 50 cents).

The Platform Workers Act is meant to protect Platform Workers in three areas: housing and retirement adequacy through CPF contributions, financial compensation in the event of injury via working, and a legal framework for representation. The Ministry of Manpower has said that the increased CPF contributions will be mandatory for Platform Workers born on or after 1 January 1995 to help with their housing needs.
